Butterfly wings invite the happiest colors in the box: try orange and black like a monarch, or go storybook with purple, pink, and turquoise. Match the big daisy in white or yellow, the tulip in red or pink, and use two or three greens across the leaves and stems so the little garden feels full and fresh behind the pair.
Each wing is made of big, forgiving shapes, so crayons and gel pens both work beautifully here. Color the two butterflies in different color schemes so they stand apart from each other. Add a few tiny dots or a stripe inside the wing shapes if you would like a little pattern, and leave the flowers for last as a bright frame.
