An elf boy carrying a wrapped gift in front of a tall Christmas tree piled with presents. Medium — great for kids.
He is hauling one gift in front of a tall tree, so scale the colors: his outfit bright and simple, red hat, green tunic, while the present he carries takes the fancy treatment, patterned paper and a big bow. The tall tree behind him stays a shade darker and less decorated, with its pile of presents in plainer wraps, so the carried gift wins the eye.
Two-tone the bow, light on the loops and darker in the knot, before coloring the box itself. His forward stride deserves a soft shadow under the front boot. If the tree’s presents start competing, mute them with a gray pencil glaze, an easy trick for pushing background details politely backward.
