A princess in an elegant gown with a tiara and pearl necklace, holding her dress. Medium — great for kids.
An elegant gown with pearls calls for a quieter palette than the jewel-heavy portraits: ivory, champagne, or the palest blush for the dress, with the tiara in silver rather than gold. Soft colors everywhere make the single strand of pearls read as the luxury detail. Hair in a rich brown or black adds the one deep note the page needs.
Pearls are colored mostly by not coloring them. Leave each pearl white and add only a tiny gray crescent along its lower edge — that small shadow is what makes it round and glossy instead of flat. The gown wants the same gentleness: shade the folds with a color only slightly deeper than the base, blended softly, rather than dark outlines of color.
