Try a soft chestnut brown for the coat with a slightly darker brown mane, then use two greens for the grass — a light one for the tufts near the fence and a deeper one in the corners. The clouds can stay white with a pale blue shadow along the bottom edge, which makes them look puffy instead of flat.
Because the lines are bold and the shapes are big, this is a great page for chunky crayons or first markers. Color the fence in weathered wood browns, and if you want a small challenge, leave one thin white stripe down the horse’s face as a blaze.
